Welcome to my little fragrant corner!
Hi! I’m Giselle; I’m a fragrance enthusiast and reviewer. I’ve been doing fragrance reviews, YouTube videos, and aesthetic posts about perfumes on Instagram for a while; however, at some point, I felt I wanted to have my own virtual “home” where I could share reviews while having the opportunity to interact with my audience more directly outside of social media.
Who is this blog for? Basically, for anybody who enjoys fragrances, reviews, and nice aesthetics. I cover topics that range from the most complimented fragrances to sexy date night scents, and in the future, you can expect blog posts about how to combine perfumes with the right accessories (fashion, in particular jewelry, is another passion of mine), so if this is your thing, you’re in the right place 🤩.
Now, there’s something you won’t find in this blog: romantic descriptions. Prose and poetry have never been my thing; I’ve always been very straightforward, and I’m no different when I review fragrances. I feel utmost respect and admiration for people with a creative writing style; however, it’s just not who I am. Even though my blog is super feminine and girly which represents me 100%, as counterintuitive as it may sound, I’m the least romantic person in this world 🙃😁.

How did you get into fragrances?
This must be my most frequently asked question, and I want to share my story with you. I’ve been into fragrances since I can remember. One day when I was in Kindergarten, I recall seeing my mom spraying perfume before taking me to school and going to work, and I asked her if I could also wear that fragrance. She sprayed a few drops of Madame Rochas on my index finger, and just like that, I bought my one-way ticket to the addictive fragrance world. I felt so fascinated by those little drops that I wanted to experience more of that magic every time I could, and as I grew up, I always preferred fragrances over anything else. So, when somebody asked me “What would you like for your birthday?” My answer was always “perfume!”.
I also recall my dad used to travel for work pretty often, and instead of asking him to bring me chocolates and candy from the duty free shops, I asked for fragrance; I didn’t care about other stuff.
Has someone influenced or inspired you?
I grew up in a fragrant home; my house always smelled nice and inviting. I recall being a kid, and my friends always told me, “Your house smells so good!!”. I think my mom influenced this passion because I’ve always seen her wearing perfume all day long, and she would never leave the house without perfume. She would wear fragrance even if she didn’t go anywhere, to the grocery store, and before going to sleep (which I could never understand). Her clothes (especially scarves) always smelled so good; she always received compliments about how good she smelled, and even today, in her senior years, she still wears fragrances 24/7! (and gets compliments! 😉 ). All these beautiful memories I’ve ingrained and treasured in my heart have been the blueprint for where I am today with my passion.
How did you get into niche fragrances?
This is another super frequently asked question. I became familiar with niche perfumery when I started going to Germany to visit my then-German boyfriend (now hubby) ages ago :-). Years later, after my twin babies were born, we moved to Germany, and since I had a few extra pounds post-pregnancy, I refused to buy clothes until I could go back to my pre-pregnancy size (which never happened 🙃).
In an attempt to channel my retail therapy cravings, I thought, “ok, if I’m not going to buy clothes, let’s tackle niche fragrances,” and the rest is history. Europe allowed me to deep dive into the fragrance world, especially into the niche world. I took classes, master classes, courses, workshops, you name it, and of course, a lot of self-study (I’m an avid learner of anything I’m passionate about), and just like what happened when my mom sprayed those few drops of Madame Rochas when I was five years old, I bought my one-way ticket to the niche world.
My collection, knowledge, and nose have only grown ever since, and since I’m a firm believer in that things are much nicer and more enjoyable when you share them with like-minded people, I’m here to share my passion with you.
